THE RESORT ~ Sunny Beach, on the Black Sea Coast, is in a semi-circular bay with 5 miles of golden sands and safe bathing. This vibrant resort has a lot of attractions to offer including many bars and restaurants with free live entertainment, nightclubs, casinos, 10 pin bowling alley, a circus, water sports, aquaparks, go-carting track, horse riding, folklore shows and trips (which can easily be booked in the resort) to name but a few. Sunny Beach has a huge market, many shops and a new shopping mall. You will also find several banks, cash machines, a hospital, chemists and medical centres in the resort.

TRANSPORT ~ Getting around Sunny Beach is not a problem as there are many modes of transport including buses, taxis, road trains, horses and carriages, stand and ride scooters, bicycles, rickshaws, motorcycles and water-taxis from the Pier.

Buses are frequent and operate throughout the day and evening along the main road of Sunny Beach. The standard fare is 1 leva (50p approximately). Buses run regularly from Sunny Beach Bus Station to Bourgas and Varna (much cheaper than booking a trip in resort). Take the air-conditioned coach (¾ hour) to Bourgas for shopping and visit The Sea Gardens and the beach. The port and train station are adjacent to the bus station in Bourgas.

TRIPS ~The ancient and picturesque town of Nessebur is just a short bus ride (costing 1 leva) or boat trip away and is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its great atmosphere, traditional architecture and cobbled streets, it is home to many restaurants and shops selling quality souvenirs - leather goods, jewellery and Bulgarian Rose products. Sozopol is also a lovely place with traditional style houses in the old town, restaurants and street cafes. It can be reached by mini-bus and you can opt for a ride via motor launch along the Ropotamo River. You can book a trip in resort to Varna for shopping and a visit to the dolphinarium. You can also visit The Blue Mountains or for the more adventurous a one or two day trip to Istanbul. Jeep safaris and horse riding are also available. A night out at The Khan’s Tent is highly recommended with its floor show, traditional dancing, live bands, varied acts and dinner included in the price (65 leva approximately). Trips can be booked in resort via travel agents and roadside vendors.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS ~ Private airport transfers from Bourgas or Varna are arranged for you at very reasonable prices (from 55 Leva each way for up to 4 persons) and are payable locally to the driver who will meet you at the airport, escort you to and familiarise you with the accommodation, supply you with the key and return transfer details and contact information. Taxis are modern, clean, air conditioned and have public liability insurance. Child seats are available on request.

FLIGHTS ~ Bourgas airport is a 30 minute drive away. Varna transfer time is about 1 ½hours. Approximate flight time from the UK is 3 ¼ hours.
